Prescott Trailers are the leading New Zealand trailer manufacturer based in Te Puke, Bay of Plenty. I worked on the initial site update back in 2008 creating standard html pages with a clear design and navigation image gallery and enquiry form. The original site was very successful at generating enquiries for farm trailers, boat trailers and custom built trailers. This latest website update includes the conversion over to a content management system and fresher layout design. Web pages can be added or edited by Prescott Trailers own staff using the simple admin tool.
The site showcases a 3D animated video of a trailer to highlight the key points of difference between Prescott's trailers and inferior imports which are commonly sold in DIY chains. A 3D CAD model was drafted by Mark at AMX Design this was rendered and exported to image sequences. Mark's work was crucial to the final video and the detailed model proved to be perfect for the rendering process. I encoded the final image sequences into a web optimized video format adding interactivity and feature highlights in flash.
The website image gallery has been a major source of interest to customers seeking custom built trailers. The CMS was developed to "pull" specific trailer images over from their new Facebook fan page removing much of the duplication work or running two galleries. The images are then automatically linked through to the enquiry forms so staff can easily reference and discuss trailers chosen by visitors.
Kevin's Comments: "We call Andy whenever we have new plans for the website, he always listens and takes care of the technical side. The website brings us regular enquiries and the recent update helps us process them quickly. This is endorsed by comments from our visitors on how good our website looks and the ease of navigation."
